Philippe Marlière is a professor of French and European Politics at University College London. He was awarded the Chair Marcel Liebman at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 2007. He was educated in France and completed a PhD dissertation at the European University Institute in Florence in 2000. Philippe was also a researcher for the state-run Centre National pour la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). His fields of expertise are: French politics; the Hollande presidency, The Front national; French party politics; France and the EU; French electoral analysis; secularism (laïcité) and religions in France; French citizenship; multiculturalism; French republicanism.
