The theatre organization Teatro di Sardegna has a 42 years long story: it is a referral agency for cultural and theatrical environment, both in Sardinia and Italy, declared one of the 16 national Theatres of Relevant Cultural Interest (TRIC) by MIBACT.
Teatro di Sardegna opts for experimentation of environments, opening spaces and melting theatre with different forms of art, opening up to the European cultural environment. The theatre becomes an abode, inhabited and occupied space, open to diverse kinds of audience and fertilisation process activator. It contributes to audience development and promotes the good practice of round robin and critical discussion on social issues.
Moreover, related to the context in which Teatro di Sardegna operates, in 2014, Cagliari has been one of the two finalist cities as European Capital of Culture 2019: as an acknowledgement for the project work done in this occasion, Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (MIBACT) has declared Cagliari “Italian Capital of Culture 2015”.
November 28th 2015 Sardegna Teatro hosting in the Teatro Massimo, the SUNS Sardigna Minority language song festival, an imaginary bridge linking the European linguistic created in collaboration with the Region of Sardinia and ARLeF (Regional Agency of the Friulian language).
