Cinema Italia UK, which screens contemporary Italian films not yet distributed in the UK, hosted one of the first screenings of the documentary in the UK on 12 April 2015 at the Genesis Cinema in London.

The film was followed by a Q&A with its Italian film director, Annalisa Piras, executive producer Bill Emmott, (the former editor of The Economist) , the Chief Executive of Ipsos MORI Ben Page and the former correspondent in London for Le Monde Marc Roche. The Q&A was hosted by Hugo Dixon (Reuters).

The actor and comedian Angus Deayton, who played the part of the Europe Archaeologist in the scenes of the documentary set in the future was also in the audience. Here he is, on the right, with the film makers.

Join Wake Up Europe!

Wake Up Europe is a campaign brought to you by the Wake Up Foundation. It was sparked by the themes explored in The Great European Disaster Movie by Annalisa Piras and Bill Emmott.

We believe in the values that inspired the European project but that this project isn't working. Europe is sleep-walking towards disaster. We must wake up Europe so that we can save Europe from itself.

This job is too important to be left to the elites, the media, the political parties alone: ordinary people must be encouraged to discuss what Europe they want to see.
