Think The Wall is a collective of young minds dreaming of a world without borders.
We are a group of students studying at the University of Groningen (NL), who aim at promoting transnational dialogue and cooperation. Besides our studies, what unites us is the awareness of the fundamental freedoms which allowed us to study and live in a state other than that of which we are nationals.
One of our main concerns lately has been the closing of those European borders the opening of which brought us together. That is why we organized a European-wide event two days before the anniversary of the signing Schengen agreements: The European Border Crossing Day.
In the evening, everyone is invited to join us at the Café de Keyzer in Groningen, where we will conclude the day with the screening of the movie "The Great European Disaster" and discussing about the present, the future, the risks and the potentials of that great European integration project we still strongly believe in.
The idea of the European Border Crossing Day is simple and everyone can participate, in a way or another:
- Cross a border!
- Don't live near a border? Organize any kind of event- throw a party, host a lecture or participate in a sit-in- everything counts!
- No time to organize anything? Take a group picture or a selfie holding a paper with the message "European Border Crossing Day, *name of your city* participates!". Done? Now share it on our Facebook Page or on any other social media using the hashtag #saveSchengen! This way, we will collect stories from all around Europe.
- Mark your participation on the page of our Facebook event and on our interactive map. But most importantly: spread the word!
