New Europeans is working with the Wake Up Foundation to bringing The Great European Disaster Movie to new audiences in Europe as part of our campaign to empower the EU citizens of today, and the new Europeans of tomorrow.

Europe faces the worst crisis since the Second World War. How we respond will define the purpose and the shape of European and international co-operation for generations to come.

In 1945, statesman like Winston Churchill, De Gasperi, Konrad Adenauer and Robert Schuman could still set out a vision for Europe’s future. No political leader seems able to do so convincingly today.

In our time, it falls to we the citizens of Europe to articulate such a vision. Can we the citizens state boldly and clearly the kind of Europe we wish to see and what kind of Europeans we want to be?

There are as many answers to those questions as there are citizens of Europe and those who aspire to be one. That is as it should be in a Europe built on the values of diversity, equality and solidarity.

Why not come and share your vision and youd ideas about what it means to you to be a citizen of Europe in 2016, at our European democracy workshops that will follow the showing of the film.

Wake Up! Stand Up! And join the European-wide conversation about your rights as a European citizen and the fate of Europe, which lies in your hands.

Participants at each event can share their thoughts and pictures using the #wakeupeurope hashtag, joining the conversation Europe, wherever they are.
